Join Hindu Centre’s first ‘Arts for Bhakti’ Workshop!

 

Kolam:  Learning to draw Amman.

 

You can draw and then even dress Amman in different colours for Navarathri !

 

  • Kolam means beauty, it brings auspiciousness and prosperity into our homes
  • Kolam is a drawing done with rice powder or chalk powder, also known as muggulu or rangoli or tharai alangaram. Doing it is itself a kind of  manasa puja to the Goddess
  • In this workshop you will learn how to sketch Amman on paper by adorning her from your own imagination, then make a template that you can bring home to use and reuse

 

Date: 2 days on 17th & 18th September

Time: 3-5 pm on each of the above dates (Total of 4 hours)

Venue: 132 Owen Road, Hindu Centre (Exit D, Farrer Park MRT)

  • All materials will be provided and you will take home an acrylic template that you can use for Navarathri
